Iguanas Win Round 1 Wednesday, July 23rd , 2064 Deuba HS Iguanas won a nail-biting series against the Villeta HS Undertakers 3-2, wrapping up the Round 1 finale 3-2 at Iguanas Ballpark. Iguanas left fielder Maleli Niumataiwalu was named the series MVP. He batted .529, drove in 7 runs and scored 5 to lead Deuba HS into the next round of play. "Maleli was real solid for us, real solid," said Iguanas manager . "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time." The Deuba HS Iguanas don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Labasa HS Rogues - Ita HS Buckaroos series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.. |
