With second baseman Jim Darlage leading the charge, the Minnesota Twins got a road win over the New York Yankees, 12-2, in Game 1 of the Wild Card Round today. Darlage was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 at Yankee Stadium to help Minnesota take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.

Darlage had a consequential at-bat in the top of the third for the Twins. Coming up with the bases loaded and Minnesota trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Darlage told the Minnesota Times.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 2nd , 2040 at Target Field in Minneapolis.
