Yankees Absorb 6-0 Loss at Marvin's Room
|
With right fielder Abel Montgomery leading the charge, the Kansas City Royals defeated the New York Yankees, 6-0, at Marvin's Room. Montgomery went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. New York, with the loss, is still a hardy 6-1.
The Royals got a big at-bat from center fielder Luis Ortíz. For the game, Ortíz went 1 for 5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Kansas City a 2-0 lead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Kansas City manager Will Dymek.
