Led by 22-year-old Tillmam Lapuente, the Waverly Jazz downed the London Fog, 4-1. Lapuente was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Waverly. Sergio Vélez, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Sancho Arroyo collected save number 1.
With Waverly trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Lapuente hit a fastball from José Hernández for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Jazz ahead, 2-1.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Lapuente told the Waverly Times.
The loss puts London at 6-13.
