Even though starting pitcher Josh Jones had a subpar performance, the Lincolnshire Swarm picked up a win, nipping the Montgomery Mammoths, 7-6, in 9 innings at Swarm Ballpark. Jones, now 5-2, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing 5 runs. Getting the save was Norm Harris, his 13th.

Duane Irvin, who is tied for 3rd in the AL with a .534 slugging percentage, took Montgomery hurler Eric Reese deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run home run put the Swarm on top, 5-3. In all, Irvin had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Lincolnshire manager .

At 26-18, the Swarm find themselves in third place in the Aarons League North Division.
