Bridgeport and Waverly duked it out and the Tide came out victorious.

The Bridgeport Tide rode a solid performance from 27-year-old starting pitcher Orlando Medina to a win, beating the Waverly Jazz, 4-2, at Jazz Ballpark. Jonathon Roberts, credited with the save, is now 5 for 6 in save opportunities.

Bridgeport used a clutch at-bat from Andy Christopher to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Tide ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Orlando was better than good. He was sensational," said Bridgeport manager .

Waverly has now lost 4 consecutive games.
