Rough Riders Reel In 6-1 Win
|
The rain did not keep Fall River and Bridgeport from finishing their game.
The Fall River Rough Riders used the hitting of third baseman Albert Peña to subdue the Bridgeport Tide, 6-1. For the game, Peña was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The Rough Riders, at 53-21, sit in first place in the Aarons League South Division.
Fall River used a well-timed hit by Juan Robles to capture the win. The shortstop socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rough Riders ahead, 5-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Nice to be on top of the heap," said Rough Riders manager .
