The Bridgeport Tide defeated the London Fog, 7-4, in part because of left fielder Dave Mack. Mack was 3-5 with 3 singles for the Tide. Dan Thomas earned the save, his 16th, for the Tide. The win lifted the Bridgeport record to 93-47.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Tide designated hitter Toshikazu Nakamura hit a fastball from Kelvin Sanders for a 2-run single. Just like that, Bridgeport was up, 2-1.

"Not the sexiest win," said Tide manager , "but I'll take it."
