The skies opened up and the rain fell at Riverton Grounds.

The Memphis Malarky weathered a fine game by Modesto left fielder Dave Butler to upend the Riversharks, 7-5, at Riverton Grounds. Butler was 2-4 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The save went to Jesús Rivera, number 17 for him.

With two out in the top of the fourth, Darrel Salas put Memphis in front, 4-1, with a 2-run single. The Malarky went on to win the ballgame.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Salas, "one at-bat at a time."

At 34-21, the Malarky are currently second in the Cobbs League West Division.
