Shorebirds Losers, 2-1, to Euless
|
Broncos Stadium featured a tense pitchers' duel.
In a tight game between the Plum Shorebirds and the Euless Trojans, nobody was more important for the winners than Mike Clark. Clark was masterful in the 2-1 win. Luis Rivera snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 1.1 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Getting the save was Cipriano Ruíz, his 1st.
Steve Griffin went 1-3 with a walk for Euless. The 21-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off River Glendenning. It was his 6th walk of the season.
"There is no easy way to lose when you're doing everything you can to win games," said Plum manager .
Euless is now 3-6.
