The rain did not keep Barrow and Greentown from finishing their game.

The Greentown Jets took it on the chin, losing, 10-0, to the Barrow Insomniacs. Jeff Payne pitched a strong game for Barrow. In 6 innings, Payne surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed no runs.

Mike Garrett had a big grand slam home run for the Insomniacs in the bottom of the second inning. With Barrow leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Víctor González and swatted a home run to left. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Insomniacs ahead, 5-0.

"Nothing to write home about," Greentown manager said, when asked afterward about the game.

The Insomniacs saw their win-loss record go to 28-20. At the same time, the Jets fell to 31-17.
