García Leads Insomniacs to Win
|
The Barrow Insomniacs bested the Lexington Generals, 7-1, at Sycamores Ballpark. Juan García was one of the standouts. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Curt Simpson, the winner, improved to 7-2. He held the Generals to 1 run on 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The win makes Barrow 33-23.
With Barrow leading 3-1 in the bottom of the third, García hit a changeup from Héctor Villarreal for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Insomniacs ahead, 6-1.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," García told the Barrow Chronicle.
