Jets Score Late to Nip Destroyers, 2-1
|
Ballpark of Greentown was host to some intense drama.
The Greentown Jets received a superlative performance from starting pitcher Víctor González, allowing them to bump off the Mountain View Destroyers, 2-1. Greentown pitcher Dave Rivera got the win, upping his record to 2-2. Tim Alexander got the loss.
Robbie Kirby was the walk-off hero for Greentown. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Jets pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place was rocking at the end," González said.
The first-place Jets are now 36-22, the Destroyers 31-27.
