Dutchmen Lasso 7-1 Victory

Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Dutchmen beat the Grasshoppers.
Burlington pitcher Ánibal Suárez had a large part in his team subduing the Timmins Grasshoppers, 7-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Suárez got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up no hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs.
Thad Augustus had a big bases-clearing double for the Dutchmen in the bottom of the second inning. With Burlington leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Ernesto Álvarez and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dutchmen ahead, 5-1.
"It was a good team win. Everybody threw something in," Augustus told the Burlington Daily News.
The 4th-place Grasshoppers dropped to 9-7.
