Imperials Get Clutch Win Versus Micco
|
El Centro third baseman Cal Tyack had 4 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Micco Jaguars, 5-4. Víctor Garza was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Walt McClain. Manny Eiras locked down his 2nd save.
Tyack had a timely hit for El Centro in the top of the ninth. With El Centro trailing 4-1, he turned a 0-2 fastball into a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 5-4, El Centro.
In comments to the El Centro Today, Tyack admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
The Imperials, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.
