Saltdogs Win Squeaker, 1-0, Over Pioneers

The Lincoln Saltdogs and Chicago Pioneers put on a pitchers' duel.
Lincoln took on Chicago in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Devin Malone, in particular, was fantastic. The Lincoln right-hander helped his team snag the win, 1-0. Lincoln reliever Juan Mota snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Chad Allen shouldered the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered by Mike Piper in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 18-year old right-handed pitcher Chad Allen to win the game for Lincoln. The home crowd went nuts.
"This place was rocking at the end," Piper said.
Lincoln is now 24-24, Chicago 31-17.
