Intimidators Take Nail-Biter Over Bull Sharks
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators picked up a win at Ballpark of Twin Lakes, taking down the Bonita Springs Bull Sharks, 3-2, in 11 innings. On the mound for Kannapolis was right-hander Yuki Ichihara. He played a central role in the triumph. José Freitas earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record is now 4-3. Kannapolis has now won 4 straight, while the Bull Sharks have lost 3 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Kannapolis right fielder Raúl Rivera, facing Dan Carlson, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Intimidators the 3-2 win.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Rivera said.
