Hornets Take Down Big Stick, 7-6
At Hornets Ballpark, the Paw Paw Hornets edged the Hilton Head Island Big Stick, 7-6, in 10 innings. Paw Paw right fielder Jake Gomme, who jolted 1 home run, was a key contributor. The winner was Paw Paw reliever Brad Harvey, now 1-0. The loser was Alfredo Duarte. The last-place Hornets now have a record of 19-39.

The decisive blow was delivered by Cale Jones in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Alfredo Duarte to win the game for Paw Paw. The home crowd went nuts.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Gomme said in his postgame press conference.
