When the games really matter, the Corydon Vandals put on their best show, beating the Laval Prêtres by a final score of 5-0. Takeshi Koizumi went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. Corydon now leads Laval 1-0 in the best-of-5 affair.

Yasuo Chikafuji dealt the Prêtres a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Corydon leading 1-0, Chikafuji hit a first pitch changeup for a 2-run double.

"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Chikafuji.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Vandals Park in Corydon.
