Divisional Goes the Distance, Lomita Prevails
|
The Lomita Cosmos and Circle Pines Astronauts put on a classic Divisional that was in question until the final game.
In the end, Lomita won the deciding contest by a score of 4-2, to take the series 3-2.
"It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said José Hernández, who earned series MVP honors for Lomita. "Our guys are breathing a little easier now."
For the series, Hernández hit .412 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Lomita Cosmos will play against the Winchester Repeating Arms in the next round. Winchester won their series against the Tullytown Moose 3 games to 2. The Championship schedule will be announced after the Divisional finishes.
