10-5 Win Gets Los Angeles to 54-34
|
The Los Angeles Angels took on the Montreal Expos at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
No one was more impactful than Pat Clay in the 10-5 Los Angeles win over Montreal. Clay, who finished 2nd in the AL in slugging percentage with .664 in 2087, went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. With the win, Los Angeles goes to 54-34, while the Expos fall to 44-45.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Angels grabbed the lead when Danny Daniels rapped a two-out single. Los Angeles was trailing 4-3, when Daniels hit a 2-run single off José Segura to put his team in front, 5-4.
Los Angeles manager Zurgan Cooper was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
