Wake Forest Mettle Tested in Tight 2-1 Win
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons did just enough to sneak past the Berkeley Dingos, 2-1, at Los Alamos Grounds. Wake Forest pitcher Víctor Rodríguez, in particular, had a standout performance. With the win, Wake Forest pushed its record to 19-13.

The decisive blow was delivered by Danny Camussi in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 24-year old left-handed pitcher Dave Pierse to win the game for Wake Forest. The home crowd went nuts.

"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Demon Deacons manager .
