A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Houghton Renegades and St. Augustine Beacons.
Ed Green was locked in. The right-hander led the Houghton Renegades to a 4-0 win against the St. Augustine Beacons at Nassau Village-Ratliff Stadium. Green picked up the win for Houghton, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2.
It could have been a different outcome for Houghton, had it not been for Tyrone Lamb, the 18-year old second baseman . Lamb contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Houghton up, 2-0.
"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Houghton manager .
With the win, Houghton upped its record to 13-9.
