Round 2 Game 1 Goes to Gulf Coast, Thanks to White
|
The Gulf Coast Blue Jays started the Round 2 in style, downing the visiting Kannapolis Intimidators at Yard Dawgs Ballpark by a score of 11-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Blue Jays right fielder Tony White was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4.
A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the third. That's when White hit a cutter from Gwang-oo Lee for a 3-run home run, putting Gulf Coast up, 5-0.
Said losing manager : "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Friday, September 18th , 2099.
