Brown Raps New York for 5 Hits
Jonathan Brown was at the head of a Arizona hit parade at Chase Field. The center fielder went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Diamondbacks to a nice 12-2 victory over the New York Mets.

"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Brown told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."

Mets skipper Kevin Mets GM said later that the club gave up "too much plate."

"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

Jonathan Brown doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Ben Weber in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Steve Harris in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Steve Harris in the 8th.

For the season, Brown has hit .333 with 5 home runs and 13 RBIs. He has played in 16 games and scored 18 times.
