6-3 Win Takes Aces to 36-35
|
Though he had a terrific game, Faycal Lahaye could not prevent his team, the Arizona Wranglers, from absorbing a loss. Reno won the game, 6-3. Lahaye went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Chris Oliver was the winner. Over 7 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Joey Garza sewed up the save, his 4th.
Jimmie Kotsilimbas had a big run-scoring triple for the Aces in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Reno leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a splitter from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Kennedy Ronayne and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aces ahead, 3-1.
Kotsilimbas told a Reno Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
The 4th-place Aces have a record of 36-35.
