Thunderbolts Ballpark was the site for Ruths League action featuring the Reno Aces and Middle Island Thunderbolts.

Chuck Halpin led Middle Island to a win over Reno. The final score was 7-2. Halpin scored 2 times, while going 3 for 3. The second baseman also was credited with 1 RBI. Bob Gray earned the win, while 26-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Hurt took the loss for Reno. Jim Wells closed the door for Middle Island, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Middle Island right fielder Juan Carlos Barrera contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 73rd hit of the season and put the Thunderbolts ahead, 4-2.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Barrera said.

With the win, the Thunderbolts improved to 37-36.
