Moose Down Bacon, 2-1
|
The Moose faced a stiff challenge from Macon pitcher Curt Calhoun, but persevered to claim a win at Cherries Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Calhoun went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Lynwood Rice got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The defeat makes Macon 26-23.
Jeff Jacobs came through with a big-time hit for Tullytown. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
In postgame remarks, Jacobs simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
