Chesepeake beat Willmington in a rain-soaked ballgame.

Chesepeake picked up a win at Ballpark of Russell Springs, bumping off the Willmington Waves, 6-4. Pitcher Jeremy Gray was a major reason the Chimichangas emerged victorious. The winner was Gray. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Mike Mitchell.

Chesepeake used the timely hitting of Cipriano Leyva to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chimichangas on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Helping the team win is what it's all about," said Gray.

Willmington's current losing streak is now 4 games.
