Vázquez Dominant in Parkersburg Win
Ft. Stewart Grounds was the site of the home opener for the Southlake Dragons. The contest featured a prime matchup between Jorge Vázquez of the visiting Parkersburg Hillbillies and Ron McIntyre of the Dragons. The final score was 4-0, the Hillbillies getting the win. Jorge Vázquez turned in the best performance. The save was credited to Bobby Frye, his 1st.

The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Vázquez. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Hillbillies. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Dragons, striking out 4 and scattering 1 hit over 7.1 innings. Vázquez is now 1-0 on the season.

"Jorge gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Parkersburg skipper .
