The Marooners grabbed a win, 4-3, at Rock Cats Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Chesepeake pitcher Lazar Sljivancanin. Sljivancanin went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. Pete Coleman earned the save for Block Island, his 16th. The win cannot erase the fact that Block Island still has a disappointing 37-80 record.

Luis Antonio Guerra, the Block Island second baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 3-2, Marooners. For the game, Guerra went 1-3 with a walk.

Guerra told a Block Island News reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
