The Haiti Hurricanes defeated the Tulane Green Wave, 7-5, at Rebels Ballpark. Bob Reese was a standout performer for Haiti. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. Juan Cardenas earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 6-1. Buddy McGorrie sewed up the save, his 8th.

Haiti took advantage of an error in the top of the ninth inning. The game was tied, 5-5, when Mike Grant hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Hurricanes in front, 6-5.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Reese.

With the victory, the Hurricanes upped their record to 69-56.
