Eagles Lose Again, 3-1, to Chiefs
Pitcher Juan Jose Díaz was rock solid in helping the Syracuse Chiefs beat the Allen Eagles, 3-1. The winner was Díaz. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Tsunesaburo Kouda. Vitorio Morales earned the save for Syracuse, his 3rd.

Cipriano González had a big solo home run for the Chiefs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Syracuse leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Tsunesaburo Kouda and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Chiefs on top, 3-1.

"Juan Jose didn't monkey around out there," said Syracuse field general .

The losses continue to mount for Allen, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
