Irish Car Bombs Get Past Ottawa, 6-5
|
The Dublin Irish Car Bombs topped the Ottawa Lynx, 6-5, in 10 innings at Ballpark of Millbrook. The game was highlighted by the performance of Dublin center fielder Phil Sharp. Dublin reliever Greg Walter was the winner. His record is now 4-0. Esteban Vera took the loss. The Irish Car Bombs, at 34-26, sit in second place in the Gehrigs League South Division.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Spike Harris? The 22-year old catcher Harris stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put Dublin up, 6-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Sharp. "I like it."
