Grasshoppers Use Late Score to Top Wild Horses, 4-3

Greensboro beat Altamont at Wild Horses Ballpark, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Dave Chapman. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Manfred Prock, now 2-1, was credited with the win in 1.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Bobby Roberts earned the save, his 15th, for the Grasshoppers.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Luis Méndez? The Greensboro center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Grasshoppers on top, 2-0. For the game, Méndez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Méndez called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
The Grasshoppers improved to 38-25.
