Valley Stream Makes It 6 Straight with 4-2 Win
Valley Stream beat Appalachian State in a rain-soaked ballgame.

Appalachian State got a valiant performance from pitcher Don Lamb, but it wasn't enough to beat the Valley Stream Ducks. Valley Stream won the game, 4-2. Lamb threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. T.J. King notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-1.

Tony Stagg had a direct impact on the outcome. Stagg contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning to put Valley Stream up, 2-1.

Appalachian State manager said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
