Brigantine Upended, 4-1, by Olean
|
The Olean Oilers converted a terrific effort from starter Jody Hodge into a win over the Brigantine Aardvarks at Bombers Stadium. The Oilers won the game by a final score of 4-1. Hodge yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. Rob Frazier was credited with the save for Olean, his 2nd of the season.
The Oilers got a big at-bat from catcher Sergio Lozano. For the game, Lozano was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Olean a 2-0 lead.
"Jody's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Olean manager .
The first-place Oilers are now 41-21, the Aardvarks 22-40.
