Soggy conditions did not keep Cheney and Scranton from playing their scheduled game.
The Cheney Medievals knocked off the Scranton Spinners, 4-2, in Johnsons League action at Cheney Fields. Cheney pitcher and Ferndale, Maryland, native Dan Robinson had an outstanding performance. Randy Shaw earned the save, his 16th, for the Medievals.
The Medievals got a big at-bat from shortstop Luis Medine. For the game, Medine went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Cheney a 4-2 lead.
"Dan really held it together well," said Cheney manager .
The 6th-place Medievals now sit at 47-49.
