Ducks Get Close Win Over Brouhaha, 5-4
The Valley Stream Ducks weathered a fine game by Brownsville third baseman Greg Lane to upend the Brouhaha, 5-4, at Visigoths Stadium. Lane was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Valley Stream reliever José Darleta picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Raúl Rodríguez was saddled with the loss. At 62-54, the Ducks are currently 5th in the Johnsons League West Division.

Valley Stream got a knockout punch from Doug Miller. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Miller said.
