Chihuahuas Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Rock Cats, 5-3
|
The El Paso Chihuahuas topped the New Britain Rock Cats by a score of 5-3. Leading the way was left fielder Mike Gordon. Gordon was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Chihuahuas. The winning pitcher was Dave Simmons. He's now 9-9. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits for the Chihuahuas. Picking up the save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jim White.
