Sardiña hits 2 home runs to Ignite Gatorades Offense
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Florida Gatorades and El Paso Chihuahuas.
With third baseman António Sardiña leading the charge, the Florida Gatorades defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas, 9-5, at Ft. Hancock Fields. Sardiña was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The Gatorades saw their win-loss record go to 66-71. At the same time, the Chihuahuas fell to 70-67.
Tim Massey went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk for Florida. The 23-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ken Burgess. It was his 25th walk of the season.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Massey told the Florida Observer.
