Buoys Get Clutch Win Versus Bloomington
|
Big Stick Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the Bloomington Big Stick and Wilmington Buoys.
Ellis Patchett knocked in all 3 runs for the Wilmington Buoys, helping them beat the Bloomington Big Stick, 3-2. Tsugiharu Nakamura wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.
Patchett had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-2 sinker from Chris Rice, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Buoys a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Patchett.
"That's baseball," said Bloomington manager . "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
After losing, Bloomington is 4-3.
