6 Straight Wins for Stars
|
The Hollywood Stars finished things off in style.
Orlando got a terrific game from third baseman Ken'ichi Taketo. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Hollywood, 6-5. Taketo went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Rich McMahon in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Eddie Cummings took the loss.
The Stars procured the win, in large part because of second baseman Broderick Potvin. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Buddy Davis, the Hollywood skipper.
Hollywood has now won 6 games in a row.
