Pedro Peña was outstanding against Houston. The left-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the UL with a 22 quality starts, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Rainiers 4-3 win. The winner in relief was Dave Boswell. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 9-7. Seattle now has a record of 73-48 with the win.

Tom Haller was the walk-off hero for Seattle. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rainiers catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Houston manager Crash Davis.
