Loss to Rox Extends Louisville Losing Streak
|
Scituate and Louisville duked it out and the Rox came out victorious.
Scituate Rox starter Frank Winters pitched his team past the Louisville Redbirds, 3-1. In 8.2 innings, Winters surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Billy McCool converted his 15th save in 17 tries.
Scituate used a well-timed hit by Jeremy Williams to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rox ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"This losing is getting old," said Louisville manager Kelly Davis.
Louisville has now lost 8 straight.
