Hurricanes Lose to 209, 8-5
|
The Stockton 209 topped the Puerto Rico Hurricanes, 8-5, in Ursa League action at Estadio Hiram Bithorn. The game was highlighted by the performance of Stockton left fielder Carl Yastrzemski. Jim Nash was the winner. Over 8.2 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. The victory gives Stockton a record of 83-51.
It could have been a different outcome for Stockton, had it not been for Cam Carreon, the 33-year old catcher . Carreon contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put Stockton up, 5-2.
"We maximized our offense today," said Stockton skipper Glenn Patterson. "That makes everyone's life easier."
