1969 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Orlando Oracles.

The inspired effort of Orlando second baseman Bartolo Rosas was not enough to prevent a loss, 11-4, to the Houston Colt .45s. Rosas went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The first-place Colt .45s, at 88-48, now lead their division by 3 games.

José Escobar dealt the Oracles a blow in the top of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Houston leading 4-2, Escobar, who is tied for 2nd in the UL with a 23 quality starts, hit a 2-1 fastball for a 2-run single.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Escobar told the Houston News.
