Burgos Whiffs 16, Bronx Tops Chi-town
|
José Burgos of the Bronx Bombers put on a pitching clinic today at LemonHart Park as he struck out 16 Chi-town Coalition in a 5-2 victory. Burgos, who finished 2nd in the CL in wins with 17 last year, was simply magnificent as he held the Coalition to 3 hits. He walked 0.
"I felt okay at the beginning," Burgos said, "but eventually my curveball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
When asked about Burgos's performance, Bombers manager Jason Owen shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."
This season to date Burgos has a record of 5 wins and no losses with a 1.62 ERA, has appeared in 6 games and struck out 69 in 50 innings.
