Knights Zap Aces, 5-2
|
The Ottawa Knights got a good effort from starter Jon Smith in defeating the Atlantic City Aces at Round Table Stadium. The final score was 5-2. The Aces drop to 14-15 and continue their mediocre start to the 1972 season.
Early in the game, first baseman Dick Allen had a 2-run home run for Ottawa. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Knights on top, 2-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Ottawa manager Román Martínez. "It's usually not just one thing."
