Blue Jays Lose By a Run at San Francisco, 3-2
|
Pedro Martínez pitched well, but his team, the Toronto Blue Jays, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the San Francisco Meatballs at 420 Park. The winning pitcher was Gene Bishop. His record is now 3-2. The right-hander went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits for the Meatballs. Armando Martínez recorded his 8th save for San Francisco.
San Francisco grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Dale Sledge delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Meatballs.
Sledge told a San Francisco Today reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
The second-place Meatballs are now 22-13, the Blue Jays 22-13.
